Mary has had a 15-year career singing America’s National Anthem, global anthems, and patriotic music across the world. She has gained worldwide recognition for her captivating vocal prowess and stirring performances of global national anthems and patriotic songs of the United States, Africa, Canada, Europe, the Middle East, and specifically India, China, Brazil, UAE, and Israel.
Mary has been featured at The White House, the United States Congress, for the NFL, NBA, MLB, 2016 RIO Olympics, Super Bowl Halftime Show with Bruce Springsteen, off-Broadway, in India, China, Europe, Canada, Africa, and in concert halls worldwide.
A trained coloratura, singing in eleven foreign languages, with family musical roots in the African American church, Motown and gospel music, Mary’s brand and music is classic, shaped by melodic storytelling, and has a cinematic approach relevant to a contemporary audience.
February 2020, Notefornote Entertainment released Mary’s debut single “Grace Will Lead Me Home” on THE MEANEST MAN IN TEXAS original motion picture soundtrack now on all leading digital platforms globally and received Academy Award/Oscar eligibility. Produced with 2018 Songwriter Hall of Fame Inductee, three-time Grammy/six-time Emmy nominee Steve Dorff and lyrics by two-time Emmy Award winner and four-time Grammy nominated songwriter Maribeth Derry. “Grace Will Lead Me Home” was written for THE MEANEST MAN IN TEXAS, now available on Amazon Prime Video.
Mary is formally recognized as a United States State Department cultural envoy and regarded as a cultural ambassador across the world for her effective leadership in cultural diplomacy, interfaith dialogue, and advocacy for global inclusion. As a cultural ambassador across the globe, Mary has become a respected figure in cultural diplomacy through entertainment, American politics, and cultural impact.
Over the past several years, Mary has become a viral sensation and voice in India (a population of 1.5+ billion people). Her entrance into India’s political sphere, relating to the growth of the U.S.-India relationship, contributed to Mary’s very intimate relationship with India, the Indian American community, and Indian communities across the world. September 2023, Mary was featured during the 2023 G20 Summit in New Delhi, India hosted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi alongside President Joe Biden in attendance. The G20 Summit is the annual official gathering of presidents/prime ministers from Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Republic of Korea, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Turkey, the United Kingdom, the United States, the African Union, and the European Union.
June 2023 and broadcast live in India, the U.S., and across the world, Mary performed for Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and guests in Washington, D.C. at the concluding event for the Official State Visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the United States hosted by President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden. Formally invited by the Steering Committee for Prime Minister’s Official State Visit, Mary performed the Indian National Anthem to an invitation-only, Diaspora event hosted by United States Indian Community Foundation (USICF) at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center in Washington, D.C.
August 2022, Mary made her first, historic trip to India performing in celebration of India’s 75th Anniversary of Independence as an official guest from the United States invited by the Government of India, the Ministry of External Affairs, and the Indian Council for Cultural Relations. Mary made history – as the first American and African American artist to be invited to India for the Independence Day observance and for an audience of 1.5 billion people.
Mary’s global performance of the Indian National Anthem, performed virtually in 2020 for the 74th Anniversary of India’s Independence Day, and the treasured Hindu hymn ‘Om Jai Jagdish Hare’ for the 2020 Diwali observance have been praised and viewed by millions across the U.S., India, and the world.
Beloved across Asia and with the Asian American community, in 2019, Mary made history performing the American National Anthem and the Chinese National Anthem (in Chinese) for the 40th Anniversary of U.S.-China Student Exchanges at The Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Washington, D.C. - becoming the first American and African American artist to perform the American National Anthem and the Chinese National Anthem (in Chinese) at The Embassy of the People’s Republic of China. Hosted by The Embassy of the People's Republic of China in coordination with The U.S. Department of State Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. Mary returned to the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China February 2024 to perform for the 45th Anniversary of U.S. China Relations under new Chinese Ambassador to the United States His Excellency Xie Feng.
